Al Boogie

I started mixing back in the day at UC Berkeley 1985. I was influenced by the many Djs that used to play at my high school, Salesian, in East Los Angeles. I have done many parties at Cal, started a mobile Dj service, promoted parties, and mixed at several clubs in San Francisco. I now mix with the virtual dj software with a American Audio VMS4.1. I still love the tech 12 and my rane mp-24, but vdj just makes everything so simple and easy. I am a mental health clinician that is currently working on a PhD and my LCSW. I now mix for my relaxation and as a hobby. I have my own little club at my house where at times I throw great parties, and am able to mix music videos. I love to travel, and would love to mix at some of the world's greatest historical sites. While at Ephesus in Turkey, I got a chance to play one of my mixes in a ruined amphitheater where Sting once performed. I also once started an impromptu party in Baja California with a laptop using vdj. I used to make mixtapes on 8-tracks and then went to Venice Beach California roller-skating with line of skaters behind me grooving. Yes, I was one of those at Venice back in the beginning of the roller craze. If I were not so chickenshit, I would love to go to Burning Man and create a club in the dessert as my contribution. The picture of me is at my fraternity at Cal, AKL, mixing at one of our great parties during the mid 80s. My goal now is to share my mixes on mixcrate to keep the party going all around the world. My contribution to world peace, hell it has to start somewhere lol.
