In the words of S'Express, "hey music lover!"
I collect and play a wide range of mostly electronic music, more recently focusing mainly on old skool house ('88-'89) and eclectic vintage Balearic chill for deejaying and on IDM, dub techno, modern classical and minimal ambient for home listening.
I've been mixing on CD since 1996, currently using two compact Pioneer CDJ-500S decks (Annie & Clarabel) through a Pioneer DJM-400 mixer and recording to minidisc. Wherever possible I play from original CD singles, albums and compilations.
All my mixes prior to 2010 were designed to fit onto a 60 or 90-minute tape with a proper intro and outro on each side. From 2010 onwards each mix is a single continuous recording, short enough to fit onto a CD if required.
My SLURP catalogue numbers date back to the good old days of the uk.music.rave Usenet newsgroup in the mid/late 90's where I used it as a playful variation on PLUR. Never did figure out what that S stood for though.
It's always good to receive feedback so please take a few seconds to like, comment or email. Also check out my Discogs profile for themed classics lists and recent favourites.
Thanks!
