Couldn't make it to Ultra or Coachella, so my first festival of the year was Sweetlife at Merriweather Post Pavillion (between Baltimore and DC).

With a lineup including AVICII, Kid Cudi, The Shins, Fitz & the Tantrums, and my new favorite "fun.", it seemed a perfect festival to take my family. Turned out to be the worst crowd I have ever experienced at any festival unfortunately, but there was still plenty of loveliness. It started raining so we had to miss out on Kid Cudi and AVICII, but considering I got our tickets for a third of the price, saw some great acts, and still had moochas fun it was all good.

RAC was my favorite act of the day, first time seeing this DJ (or collective of DJ's). Definitely had the 2nd stage crowd bumping, I had my daughter sleeping in the ergo (kangaroo pouch) while gleefully dancing through the crowd to smiles all around. Fitz and the Tantrums also killed it, hope to catch more of them at Bonnaroo. My wives favorite act was 'fun.', considering they produced my favorite new album I can't wait to see them again at Bonnaroo too. US Royalty was someone I had never heard of before, but they were good as well.

There were a ton of songs on this mix that I have previously highlighted, so wanted to make sure to draw attention to the excellent new ones. I made this DJ mix until like 4 in the morning the night before the festival so there are a few shaky mixes, but I still really like it. The music is quite introspective, definitely the place I was at that point in time.
