Dappa Raye is first and formost a music lover, then a DJ, Engineer and Electrician who grew up around all genres of music. Dappa Raye is orginally from the Caribbean island of St Vincent and the Grenadines, who reside in Brooklyn, New York for 20 yrs.He became interesting in becoming a DJ in 1991 after seeing his uncle Super Dan mixing and scratching on his new Gemini turntables.Two years later he got the opportunity to DJ his first Block party alongside his uncle. As the years go by he DJ at numerous kids & adult parties.As a result of that, he began to gain a little buzz. With that buzz he never gain the respect of the popular male and female DJs. As a Young DJ in the business,there's never a day Dappa Raye feels intimidated by the popular male and female DJ's around him. He is never acknowledged as a great DJ by any of the other DJ's but (DJ TRIXY & DJ FIZZ from Kevlartone studio).He worked on mix tapes and parties with DJ Fizz & DJ TRIXIE. That opportunity led to the popularity of his name, Dappa Raye.His influences in the music industry are too much to mention.He specialize in spining Hip Hop/Rap, R&B, Pop,Reggae and Soca, but he spin all genres.
