Emerging from the basement in San Diego, with
a heavy scratch arsenal, he joined the ICONS,
in 1997. Early in his career, H.O.P.'s influence
included Aladdin, Scratch, Daddy Rich, Mike T (CMW),
Joe Cooley, Premier, Pete Rock, Mix Master Ice,
Magic Mike, and Mr. Mixx.

H.O.P.'s involvement in the Hip Hop community has
been quite extensive in Southern California alone.
He co-hosted "Distorted Frequencies" on KCR Radio at San Diego State. Understanding the importance of influencing future turntablist, H.O.P. has also taken the time to volunteer as mentor and instructor for youth Dj classes.

Ultimately, what the audience and the turntablists
should know is that H.O.P. is an innovator. In addition
to producing and co-producing tracks, albums, and mix tapes, H.O.P. has created several new scratch techniques. For example, the "Hydrophonic" is his signature scratch. H.O.P. has, with his new scratches, sparked motivation and ambition in the entire turntablist community. The Hydrophonic scratch is currently featured in 2 different DVDs: "Bay Area Exports,
and "Q-bert's Do-It-Yourself vol. 2."

Currently residing in San Francisco, Ca H.O.P. is one half of the hip hop duo Con Safos, as well as the Dj for Bossasaurus.
