Born and raised in Imperial, CA, R2 began his career as a DJ in 1993 at the age of 17 on two belt-driven turntables and a Realistic mixer. Known as DJ Spice at the time, he put together a DJ crew - Mail Box Productions - and started getting booked for events and parties where he practiced and honed his mixing skills. Born and raised in Imperial, CA, R2 began his career as a DJ in 1993 at the age of 17 on two belt-driven turntables and a Realistic mixer. Known as DJ Spice at the time, he put together a DJ crew - Mail Box Productions - and started getting booked for events and parties where he practiced and honed his mixing skills. He collaborated with many other party crews to create some of the best events the Imperial Valley has seen. Eventually, Mail Box Productions merged with other party crews to create the infamous Entertainment Kings, with co-owner LG and main DJ AdamAmuse, hosting events throughout the Imperial Valley such as Makeover Knockout, Beach Party, Famous – MTV Casting Call, and Hustler.
R2’s style originated from mixing Old School Freestyle and Hip Hop. His experiences playing clubs in Mexico had a large influence on his music, giving him a broader range, including Latin House. In 1998, R2 moved to San Diego, exposing him to other music genres which gave more depth to his mixes. His incredible mixing style brings together different types of music and blends them seamlessly in what can only be classified as first-rate DJing.
A recent addition to the Entertainment Kings family, DJ Arox and DJ LYA, has been working with R2 to create EK Party Rockers – specializing in Open Format :Top 40 hits, MashUps, Hip Hop, and Progressive/Dirty Electro House. Their mixing style is geared to get everyone dancing, no matter their music preference, and has been rocking venues throughout Southern California and Baja. R2 is currently the resident Friday night DJ at Gallagher's Pub in Ocean Beach, where he and the EK Party Rockers have hosted several successful events including Spring Break, Independence Day, Halloween, and New Year's Eve parties. . R2 has worked with many internationally renowned DJs and recording artists, and has performed at events in Portland, El Paso, Las Vegas, San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles. He has contributed his skills to many events with Nocha Music, DJ Mario Swat, Venue, GoodFellaz Entertainment, Impact Productions, La Gente, Raza Events, MYG, Super Estrella, The Valley Q96, MJS Productions, and Beat Evolution.
