To me music was not something I just liked but a way of life. I didn't just wake up one morning and decide that I wanted to be a DJ, it kinda happen on accident. I always had music in my life ever since i could remember. My dad was a big music fanatic, spending all his money on CD's and Boxsets. His interest was all genres...rock, funk, ol' skool, oldies and later hip-hop. Everytime we had a party or a get together my dad always played his party music so everybody can hear. I always had a tape player of some sort and pop-in my dad's tapes in my deck and just listening to anything like Led Zeppelin, The Scorpions, and Quiet Riot. The album covers were really intriguing. At that time i really haven't discovered my favorite type of music. I could remember listening to The Doors about 8-10 years old and not knowing what I was listening to, but I liked it. :) I bought my first own music back when Nirvana came out with Nevermind and I loved that even more. At that time I was creating my own interest in music. Then the whole CD era came upon and I bought my first CD which was a mix that Richard "Humpty" Vision made and thats when i discovered... house music. By then I was already listen to alot of hip-hop on Power and KROQ music so this was really new to me.
After dropping out of high school I was in a party crew with Intense Family and we did all kinds of partys. I used to help unload, set-up and carry crates of records...I know old skool, rite. It kinda introduced me how the party system works because when I use to go to partys in high school I was to hammered to even think where the the music is coming from. When I was bout 19 my uncle got me my first iPods...so I started my downloading process. By the way, I spent all my money on CD's also until somebody broke into my truck and stole approximately over 200 of my precious CD's. I was heart broken and pissed off. So I did my time paying for music and now it's time to get mine back and more. I started playing music off my iPod through a radio or whatever was around at homie's pads or my cousin's house because he was a DJ. I came up on a old ass mixer to input my iPods so I can cross the fader, basically fade one iPod to another. I started doing free partys for friends and family using whatever i had on my iPods. Then I made my first money playing music...I was hooked. Once you make your first money doing something you love, your strive increases. So I went out and I bought an iPod mixer which has two decks for the iPods to sit. I used to use my cousins speakers to do partys. My cousin hooked me up with people to hire me to do partys for them using this cool mixer. I don't know how I did it but the partys were crackin'.
Something was building up inside of me and I wanted more. I signed up for school in 2008 and it was a requirement to have a Mac Pro. I was able to get a loan and bought my Mac. I had enough money to buy a Mac and some dj equipment. So i bought some lights, speakers, turntables, and yes Serato. Serato was such a turnaround for me, it got me able to do my first club which was pretty cool because when i bought my first mixer i made some goals, one of them was to do a club. I spent so many hours organizing my music in categorys and getting every song in every era...this is a job and it's not easy, Loading, seting up, loading, unloading. But it's something I love to do and will continue to do until I can reach my dream and satisfy my ultimate satisfaction. I used my dad's music interest and took it to another level and used his knowledge and combined it with mine to created this universal mind set with music. Right now I can say that music is the key to my success but this story isn't finished yet but just getting started...
