Drew M's Bio
Founded Unique Technique Productions of Carson, CA with several Stephen M. White Jr. High School friends and cousins back in 1983 after being introduced to DJ'ing by my Uncle Joe from San Francisco, who was involved in the late 70s/early 80s Bay Area DJ scene.
Attended Carson High School in the 80s and witnessed first hand the rise of Dr. Dre, Joe Cooley, Egyptian Lover, Jammin Gemini and others who got their start doing DJ gigs around town. Grew up with my radio set to AM1580 KDAY and nothing else.
A true old skool DJ, I'm proud to say I've never DJ'ed a gig using Serato or any of that other stuff. I hauled milkcrates filled with vinyl to our gigs up until I retired (long long ago), but UT is still going strong as one of the longest continuously operating mobile DJ crews in Southern California (28 years and still going strong), with chapters in Carson, San Diego, Riverside, Stockton, IE and Manila.
Although I'm long out of the scene, I'll still throw down a mix or 3 every now and then, and Mixcrate will be the first to get it. Big ups to Mixcrate for providing the venue to share the work of so many talented DJs all over the world.
Do a search for Unique Technique and check out my homies DJ FL3X (original UT Carson, now doing his L3 thing), DJ RudeBoy (UT - Riverside) and DJ MikeRawk (UT - Carson). Their mixes are dope and you can find them too on mixcrate...
