Derek "Duckman" Adams started spinning vinyl 10 years ago when a local pawn shop closed and he inherited 3,000 records. For 7 years Derek spun electro, electro house and baltimore club as Dickie Qwick in the Pittsburgh area. In 2009 Derek moved to San Diego and worked as a Certified Macintosh Technician and played as a reggae DJ in the gaslamp portion of downtown. In 2010 during the Heathens parade he acquired the name "Duckman" after his series of Duck paintings in space. While simultaneously showing art and doing live painting at events & venues, Duckman hooked up with the SHAFT crew, Cosmic Family & HYPE. Duckman's goal is to change the thought process that you must maintain a specific genre per set, but instead to break the stagnation by using strange "ducktunes" including but not limited to electro house, glitch, drumstep and day funk. Duckman is also involved with a live band called "Austin Space and the robot dinosaurs" and electronic improvisational group including vocals, violin and as many electronic noisemaking devices possible. The group consists of Duckman, Dr 42., Austin Space and Sarah Cranberry. Duckman has produced over 300 songs and has over 42 hours of mix cd's recorded and at the ready. Duckman is one to watch as he integrates Art, Music, Community and family
