About:
Matjazz was born in highly industrial Silesia, in south Poland. Surrounded by communist blocks of flats, he was quickly exposed to the old school hip hop movement. In the middle of the 90's, he got involved with DJing and collecting vinyl records. At the end of the 90's, Matjazz started DJing in Jazz Club Fantom, Bytom. In 2002, Jazz Club Hipnoza was opened in Katowice, and with it the possibility to support many Polish and international artists. In 2004, Matjazz moved to Dublin and the same year together with DJ Stu, he set up Breakology. Later on, he has begun to co-operate with Afronova, Breakdown, Choice Cuts and Mr. Whippy Soundsystem. He is open to a massive variety of music styles and tries to show it in his sets. The fusion of various music styles mashed and cut together with unique styles of mixing, brings a style all his own.
