Mond Ortiz's Bio
Mond Ortiz has been a DJ since 1990 starting out with 80s pop dance and new wave records playing for family parties and gatherings. In 1993, he joined a mobile where his DJ skills were further enhanced, from being flexible at any song to extra DJ skills like basic turntablism such as scratching and beat juggling. Playing in school proms and village parties, Mond would usually play a hefty set of 90s dance from Black Box to Dee Lite, to Ce Ce Peniston and even Sybil, thus, his early exposure to playing in public. He was even heard in the radio station over the defunct 89.1 DMZ playing for the Mobile Circuit with his new group Audio Pump Mobile.
The year 2000 became a breakthrough when Mond with fellow DJs Alex M and Roy Mascarinas formed the group CONTROL, a DJ group. As a team, Mond together with Control DJs were able to play in clubs like 78orange, MASyMAS, C2, Wherelse, Mars, Yero, Sambos etc. Later on, Control DJs played as a team at Warehouse 135, Halo, Future and other individual parties. Aside from DJing which he does part-time, he is also an entrepreneur running two businesses at the same time.
Mond Ortiz's music is classified as deep, presently playing a set of deep techno, deep and moody house.
As what Mond has always said, "DJing is like driving. Anyone can learn how to drive a car, but only a few will learn how to race it and win."
