About Roslynn Cobarrubias:
Roslynn Cobarrubias (Third Floor Radio founder) fell in love with music at a young age. At Shelyn Elementary School she would record mixes from the radio and play them for her classmates at lunch and this continued throughout highschool and college - thus spawning her lifelong passion in music promotion. Although her career found her focusing on the "behind the scenes" of music, she also still loves to be a "music selector" at Walnut house parties & events and is constantly learning by observation from those she admires like DJ Jay-P, Sureshot, Concise, KrisCut, Analog, Jazzy Jeff, Vice, Irie, Icy Ice, Mick Boogie, J-Period and so many more. She hopes to one day earn the title of "DJ" before her name but feels that will only come after many hours of practicing the craft.
Roslynn is currently the Senior Director of Marketing at Myspace Music, she is one of their first employees that has helped the website grow from 2 to 200MM+ users. Under her previous position as the Director of Urban Editorial, registered urban artists exponentially grew from 126 registered Hip Hop / R&B artists to over 2MM, making it the largest genre for registered artists on the site and largest urban music community on the world wide web. She was known for helping to create and promote some of the largest and most active profiles on the popular website including those for Lil Jon, Mos Def and Ice Cube. Her current role has her developing, managing and executing programs that integrate top music artists with advertising brands. She has produced concerts or original online programming for artists and brands that include Jay-Z, Rihanna, T.I. ft Kanye West, Nas, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Akon, DJ Hero, Xbox Dance Central, HP, Wendys, AT&T, Heineken, Adidas and many more. In 2009 she was named one of Billboard Magazine’s “Top 30 Music Industry Professionals Under 30″ alongside other professionals like Justin Bieber Manager Scooter Braun and Drake Manager Cortez Bryant. In 2007, Roslynn was featured in The Source Magazine “Power 30″ alongside notables Diddy and Russell Simmons. With other features in XXL Magazine, LA Weekly, etc. – her most important feature remains a cover story in the Filipino global newspaper – Asian Journal.
Cobarrubias has worked in every aspect of the music industry from radio to promotion to marketing to production at various companies including Radio Express, OnAir, Radio Disney, Little Brown Girl Clothing and the National Association of Record Industry Professionals. She prides herself in helping others promote their passions which stems from her early career hosting & producing one of L.A.’s top and longest running positive Hip Hop radio shows- Third Floor Radio which then sparked the creation of the Third Floor Network.
