Sir Jear's Bio
A big time fan of this site..I originally checked out this site because I heard some classic Yay Area Mixes were being posted here, and sho' nuff found a gang of mixes from the Yay, and a ton of other flava' too (just check my Playlist).
Now transplanted to Sin City, I spent most of my time in Cali listening to mixes from the likes of Unique Styles from Oxnard, HT from KMYX 106 (RIP), Jay Scratch, and many more from the 805, Rick Dees, KIIS FM LA, Power 106, KDAY, Power 106, KCSB Friday Nite Mixes, Icy Ice, DJ Babu, Beat Junkies, Dennis Blaze, Wild 107/Wild 949, KMEL, KALX, DJ EFX, QBert, Mixmaster Mike, DJ Apollo, Shortkut, DJ Disk, Rock Steady Crew DJs/ISP, Dragon Rick Lee, SBC, Bomb Hip-Hop Records (Remember those Return of the DJ CDs?), Rich Laxamana, Chuy Gomez, Greg Lopez, DJ Boy Wonder, DJ Rectangle, Neil Armstrong, Vinroc, 5th Platoon, Mountain Bros/DJ Chops,Rob Swift, Grandmaster Roc Raida (RIP), Mista Sinista, X-Ecutioners, DJ Jester the Filipino Fist, Kid Koala, A-Trak, and many many more.
I was commissioned by my office to be the daily DJ, so I look to Mixcrate as sort of the United Colors of Benetton Mixes. The international flava and plethora of mix genres made it a treat for me to plan out 9hrs of daily mixes. I loved the diversity that can arise from two mixes that share almost the same title (ex: a Freestyle Mix from the Yay vs a Freestyle Mix from Miami or New York). In fact almost all of the first 395 mixes on my playlist were mixes I picked for airplay at work.
However, those times were taken away with some restructuring in our Department that brought in an Executive who didn't want any music play at work. S'all good, now from mix 396 and on, I can just focus on listing stuff I'm really feelin'...for myself! There were some great mixes I had to pass up because they weren't work-friendly (i.e.: cussing) that I can now put back!
While I DL more than I comment, I do leave the most honest praise and feedback that I can, and (unless otherwise noted) will not leave a comment for a mix that I haven't heard from end-to-end, so please don't hate if I don't commentate....I DO hit the "LIKE" button for all mixes I DL.
Aiight Peace....
