Tired? Weary? Renew your strength with this refreshing SOL Vibes live DJ mix.

I began DJ-ing in 1990 in New York and the house music scene was young and unique. Numerous DJs had a message and story when they mixed. For example, NY’s own house DJ, Danny Krevit, says he doesn’t play records that communicate a message that he doesn’t want to send. It was about going on a journey together. As I remember, the music was mostly uplifting and had substance––it wasn’t corrupted by commercialization or flashy clubs. The New York house music scene was influenced by jazz, soul, funk and Gospel. There was something musically clean and pure about it. I’m recording these mixes in Brisbane, Australia––but I endeavor to reflect the roots of NY in all my mixes.

The goal of this mix is to help renew your strength. It begins with Matt Turner’s Hit New––Matt’s a young man from Brisbane that I’m proud to be mentoring. It flows into a new song by One51 called Elevate (I edit it a bit). There’s nothing like hope to renew the soul and that’s what this new released remix of Brighter Days is all about. Another new remix is this year’s Sometimes. This mix features a number of promo, recently released tracks and remixes as well as a few classics.
