DJ Ell entered the DJ scene at the age of eleven when he got his first pair of turntables. By age twelve Ell started performing at local events, house parties and small venues which helped him get his feet off the ground. By the time he turned thirteen he had a following & was already playing at venues in and around Michigan, USA like the Gruv Night Club, The Spot, PJ’s, The Blind Pig, Envy, The Power Center, The B-Side, and Cloud 9 to name a few. Soon after, Ell was invited to join several nationally known DJ crews and labels. Along with the new press this “young prodigy†started to get, Ell began getting contacts and gigs with the well-known Channel 9.55 Detroit and WJLB 97.9 radio. He also hooked up with DJ Chill Will who runs the Midwest’s hottest Hip-Hop radio show, “The Prop Shop†(since 1988) on WCBN Ann Arbor. Today DJ Ell and DJ Chill Will run the show together every Saturday night from 9:00 pm. to midnight (88.3-fm). Ell is the youngest DJ in the U.S to run a Radio Hip-Hop show, and travel in and around the state playing at 18+ and 21+ events. Throughout the years, DJ Ell has opened, Dj’ed for, and worked with many celebrity artists such as Lil Jon, DJ Class, Twista, Wiz Khalifa, Bei Maejor, Pittsburgh Slim, Colby O'Donis, Obie Trice, Big K.R.I.T., Three 6 Mafia, Lil Twist (Young Money) and also old school legends as Mc Lyte, Raekwon and Cymarshall Law to name a few. Unlike most DJs in the game that mainly play one genre of music, Ell has been seen everywhere from the hottest Hip-Hop spots and concerts, to opening for DEMF (Detroit Electronic Music Festival) which every year pulls thousands of people for this 3 day event. The amazingly young but experienced DJ Ell has performed at events and clubs that pull a few hundred people to a few thousand people. Don’t be shocked if you walk into the hottest spot in town and look up to find this young DJ laying it down on the 1s ‘n 2s or turn on your radio to catch Ell mixing live.
