Member since Jan. 2011I've been a DJ for as long as I can remember. Growing up there was a whole crew of us that would spend all our time collecting vinyl, practicing, and throwing parties. Mix Master Mike was throwing gigs in Sac as far back as the early 80's, and getting to know him helped all of us learn new tricks, and innovative ways to keep the party rockin! I've been a DJ for as long as I can remember. Definitely a pioneer in this game, and good friend to have.
In my late teens I moved to LA to get a taste of a bigger city. Although I didn't gig as steadily during my time there, I got my first taste of working in the studio, and I was hooked. I've been doing production work ever since. Although I lean towards Hip Hop and R&B, I also enjoy working on House tracks and remixes, Reggae and Latin.
After LA, I moved to Hawaii where I was fortunate to start booking gigs immediately thanks to some new friends that helped me out quite a bit. I also did radio in Hawaii, working at I-94 with Lanai on the afternoon drive, and on an after- hours House show called The Beat with Richie Aqui.
Back to LA to further pursue producing and music editing for film and television. On this second round I was privileged to work with some top names in the industry, and I really enjoyed my time doing so.
For many reasons, life brought me back to Sacramento where I continue to produce tracks, DJ for the love of it, and travel the world seeking out fresh new sounds that inspire me to create. Music isn't a hobby for me - its as essential as the blood that runs through my veins. I hope my music inspires you the same way others have inspired me. - The Chef
