Justin Bieber's just-released "Believe" album has all but locked up a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart next week.
Industry sources suggest the album will sell in the range of 410,000 to 440,000 by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, June 24.
It is poised to earn the highest debut sales frame of the year and Bieber's best ever. It will surpass 2012's current debut champ, Madonna's "MDNA," which started with 359,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Bieber's highest week thus far came when "My World 2.0" sold 291,000 in its second week in April, 2010.
However, Bieber isn't the only major star with a new album out this week. Joining "Believe" are new arrivals from country titan Kenny Chesney, a returning Fiona Apple and the latest from the Smashing Pumpkins.
Chesney's "Welcome to the Fishbowl" is seemingly headed for a No. 2 debut with around 200,000. His last set, 2010's "Hemingway's Whiskey," entered at No. 1 with 183,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"Welcome to the Fishbowl" will likely secure Chesney his 10th top 10 album on the Billboard 200, and his 11th No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.
Fiona Apple's new "The Idler Wheel . . ." -- her first album since 2005's "Extraordinary Machine" -- could debut in the top five next week.
Sources say it will sell around 70,000 copies. She was last on the Billboard 200 on March 11, 2006, when "Extraordinary Machine" wrapped up its final week on the tally.
The last of the biggest debuts will come from Smashing Pumpkins' "Oceania," with around 50,000 copies. It could mark the band's seventh top 10 album, and will follow 2007's No. 2-peaking "Zeitgeist."
