I can never understand why the hell a DJ or producer would talk about themself in the 3rd person, for example: "Zeppelin is a class A bass whore", or "Zeppelin rather takes a fancy to straddling bass in a sexual manner." Or words to that effect.... Blerugh & Fuck It. Zeppelin NRG's Bio
Blerugh & Fuck It. Anyhowz I'm gonna swiftly move onto the matter of my biog and quit this useless jibber-jabber : )
I started loving heavy music when I was around 16-17, which arrived to me in the form of heavy metal : Strapping Young Lad, Emperor, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Slipknot - I'm sure you get the picture. I became a lover of underground dance around the age of 23 when I was introduced to the world of free parties, who would have thought that so much joy could be found in a field with decent bass heavy dance music??!!
Being a guitarist for several years before that mental summer, it was hardly surprising that I developed a passion for DJing, and later producing. Freeform was the first genre I started mixing, the fast-paced euphoric beats & big leads of NuEnergy records driving my passion. Rather delightfully I stumbled across Finrg, in the flavours of DJ RX, Pain on Creation, Alek Szahala and all the others of course!!! As wicked as it was with the energy and fast paced melodies, it didn't QUITE nail it on the head for me..... I found the low end didn't quite give me the bass-face I was looking for :-P
But AHA !!! I discovered a vinyl selling website called www.bangingtunes.com at some point in 2008, and discovered an ominous looking section called "NRG". Of course, being a curious fucker, I had to have a gander at the music there.....
And then it all slotted into place : )
I had originally started experimenting & making tracks on FL Studio 7 around February 2008, with a bit of Freeform, Psy trance, Hard Trance, DnB, Schranz & NRG (I even attempted to make an album at one point, which then became an EP, which then just became an interesting learning experience). And at the start of 2011 I decided to focus on producing NRG, and sculpting a sound for myself, the first track I produced with that mindset was "Siiiick"
As good as FL Studio was for my journey, I moved onto Ableton 8 in the summer of 2011, and I have been overjoyed with the ease of the change! I had my first release - "Siiiick" become available for download on Toolbox & Trackitdown in February 2012, and to date I have 8 tunes released across 5 different NRG & Hard House labels with many more to come throughout 2013 : )
Producing & releasing music has helped secure a fair few DJ gigs outside of my hometown Portsmouth, I have of course played multiple nights at the Barn in Portsmouth, too numerous to list all of them but a few of the highlights would have to be carrying on straight after BK, Billy Bunter, Karim & Lisa Pinup (at 4 separate events). In London I have played at Twist (in Club Colosseum) & Bioshokk (in Union), in Birmingham I have played at Interdance (in Subway City), and in Leeds I have played in the Orrible Noize room at Beaverfest (in Beaverworks), was a predominantly heavy NRG night that one : )
